Lucciolaio
Classification: IGT wine Colli della Toscana Centrale.
Grapes: Sangiovese (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (20%); produced since 1994.
Vinification: the two processes of vinification are made separately with maceration in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature between 25° and 28° C. for 22-24 days, with 2-3 manual remontages each day to allow the maximum extraction of colour, extract and aromas. The wine matures in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months, then it is bottled and refined in bottle for at least 6 months before marketing.
Characteristics: intense ruby red colour with garnet red shadings after years of aging. Wide scent with a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, essences of wood, spices, vanilla and liquorice; wide, full, soft, elegant, harmonic, well balanced and very long flavour. It keeps and evolves its own best characteristics for many years, being able to be aged for a long time (15-20 years).
Alcohol: 13,5% by Vol.
Temperature of service: 20° C.
Combinations: ideal for grilled red meats, roast and stewed game, matured and tasty cheeses. It can be tasted also as “meditation” wine.
